Development
Who says code can't be beautiful? Writing clean effective code is just as important as a great design. I always write web standard XHTML & CSS that is semantic, valid, and search engine optimised.
My language of choice is PHP which provides rapid development and scalable code and fast performance.
I develop using object-oriented programming and use an MVC pattern to separate the application, data and user interface. My user interfaces are clean and easy to use. I have used various open-source frameworks such as Drupal and WordPress.
XHTML & CSS
A good framework is the key to any successful project. Utilizing modern XHTML & CSS, I develop websites that are not only functional, but also flexible to be expanded in the future. All XHTML is validated and designed to be accessible to all.
e-Commerce and content management
My custom ecommerce website design solutions will enable you to run an ecommerce website on the internet in a user friendly manner. Database driven product catalogues allow instant updates to the product listing and manage customers, their information and all receieved orders. Online payments can be made with a variety of Payment Gateway Providers, including PayPal, Sage Pay, WorldPay, and HSBC.
Content Management Systems (CMS) are a great way of keeping your website up-to-date by providing you with a rich-text editor similar to most word processors. News articles, case studies, and other content can all be managed from a simple online system which can be accessed by multiple users from around the world.
Blogs, social media, and mobile
Blogs and social media provide a great way to create traffic to your site by creating discussion and debate on topics. I use WordPress as the blogging engine for its ease of use and flexibility.
Mobile phone browsing is on the increase and I have developed a number of mobile sites, including a "find your nearest store" tool, which uses your phone's GPS receiver.
Hosting, and server setup
Installing a website on to a server is not always as easy as it seems. I can configure your site to correctly on your web host and configure it make sure it runs as quickly as possible. I use both Windows and Linux almost daily so neither environment is alien to me.
For more examples the work I have produced, see my portfolio or if you fancy a chat, get in touch.
